She received her Degree in Psychology from the Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences in Athens. She acquired her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of LaVerne – Athens Campus. Elli Manatou was trained in systemic therapy, in systemic couples’ therapy and in the coordination of parent-groups (6 years of training). She participated in the Parent Counseling Program run by the Institute of Continuing Training for Adults (IDEKE) of the Ministry of Education (2004-2008).
Elli Manatou has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups as a psychotherapist in private practice since 2001. She cooperates with nursery and elementary schools as a counseling psychologist.
She works therapeutically with individuals and couples, who face fertility problems. She had been a research associate in a large scale research program examining the effect of psychosocial factors on infertility treatment.
2011-2020 Elli Manatou belonged to the staff of the Counseling Center of Merimna in Thessaloniki (www.merimna.org.gr), a nonprofit organization, which supports children and their families who are experiencing grief due to serious illness or the death of a loved one. She also coordinated training programs of Merimna.
She is a member of the Systemic Association of Northern Greece (SANG).
She has made a number of presentations at scientific conferences on parenting issues, infertility and couples relationships.
