He is a licensed psychologist. He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds Master degrees in Social and Clinical Psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in Social Psychiatry from the Democritus University of Thrace.
He is trained in systemic psychotherapy, in systemic psychotherapy of children and adolescents and in systemic couples’ psychotherapy.
He is an internationally certified alcohol and drug counselor since 2012 (International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium, ICRC).
He is trained as a Mindfulness Trainer at the Oxford Mindfulness Center (MBCT).
He has fulfilled a two-years-training in “Talking with psychosis / Accompanying in recovery” at the Hellenic Observatory for Rights in the Field of Mental Health.

From 2008 until 2024 he worked as a psychotherapist with addicts and their families at KETHEA (Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals) with different addictions (drugs, alcohol, gambling, internet etc.).
He contributed as a supervisor to the creation of self-help groups in KETHEA and outside of it.
He worked as a psychotherapist with cancer patients and their families and with individuals who had experienced a psychotic crisis.

Antonis Raftopoulos was director of several therapeutic programs of KETHEA in North Greece (ITHAKI etc.), until he resigned in July 2024.

Nowadays he works as a psychotherapist with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
He offers supervision and training in systemic psychotherapy to mental health professionals.
He offers Mindfulness programs in different contexts.

He has published several articles in scientific journals.

Antonis Raftopoulos is a member of the Systemic Association of Northern Greece (SANG). He has been a member of the Administrative Council in the years 2020-2022 and Vice President in the years 2022-2024.
As a family therapist he is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA-CIM).
